WHAT'S NEW ON THE HILL...
As of July 1st the college of Human Ecology is now known as the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics. For short, it will be referred to as Falk College.
Also, their Nutrition and Health & Wellness departments have merged into a new department called Public Health, Food Studies and Nutrition. The majors that currently fall within this department are Public Health and Nutrition Science.
Falk College’s new Web address will be: http://falk.syr.edu
The new e-mail address is: Falk@syr.edu
Please be sure to use this new information as you refer prospective students to Falk College. We have the necessary changes were made on the SU Web site.
NET PRICE CALCULATOR (NPC) I have some exciting news! Syracuse University’s Net Price Calculator (NPC) is now available at several online locations on the SU Admission and FA websites.
As you know, federal law requires that all colleges/universities must have a Net Price Calculator available by October 1. Syracuse University’s NPC became live August 1, months in advance, to accommodate our prospective freshmen to help them with their college search.
We are utilizing the College Board’s Net Price Calculator product and we have been working closely with them throughout the past year to customize our calculator for Syracuse University. In addition to introducing families to the financial aid process, it has been designed to help tell the SU story.
The NPC will help families estimate their eligibility for financial aid and out of pocket expenses. It is a great planning tool, and provides an early indication of how much, and what types of financial aid a family may be eligible to receive at SU.
We are able to calculate eligibility for financial aid that reflects our institutional decision towards meeting full need using 2011-12 packaging policies. This includes Syracuse University Grant as well as other state and federal grants, federal loans, and work study. However, eligibility of merit scholarships is not determined by the calculator.
Our immediate focus and requirement of the federal regulations is to assist prospective students who are interested in SU as fulltime undergraduates and will be entering as freshmen.
The best way to learn about the NPC is to take a few moments and complete it yourself. The direct link is: https://npc.collegeboard.org/student/app/syr
We hope you will take a few moments to explore our Net Price Calculator. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our office.
